2023 GOVERNORSHIP RACE: OUR HOPE IS ALIVE
The Ibiono Ibom Welfare and Development Union, IWADU, has maintained that the collective aspiration of Ibiono Ibom people for governorship of Akwa Ibom State in 2023 is still on course inspite of the presentation of Pastor Umoh Eno as the Governor's preferred Aspirant.
The President-General of the Union, Otuekong Prince Godwin Okon, ChMC made this disclosure while interacting with newsmen today in Uyo. The President-General also used the medium to call on all indegenes of the area that have indicated interest in the position not to be deterred by the latest development as it was the turn of Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency to produce the next governor of Akwa Ibom State, since all other Federal Constituencies in Uyo Senatorial District had already taken their turns.
The Community Leader said that the Union is not opposed to the ambition of the preferred Aspirant of the Governor, but that his Federal Constituency had already taken a bite of the position, insisting that the only Federal Constituency (i.e Itu/Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency) must be supported to produce the next Governor.
Otuekong Godwin Okon further call on all Akwa Ibom people to support Ibiono Ibom to produce the next governor of the state in the interest of peace, unity, equity and fairness. As maintain peace is synonymous to equity, justice and fairness. He also call on all Ibiono Ibom people to remain calm and keep their hope alive, knowing that He who started the good work is faithful to complete it.
