Breaking News:First history of EKET DEV

This is a turning point of history in Eket LGA

Across board I haven’t seen this form of development in the past decade.

Congratulations to Rt Hon Akaniyene Tommey

SUPERLATIVE PERFORMANCE BY EKET CHAIRMAN

Yesterday represented a major turning point in Eket Local government as we dedicated three impactful developments: the official opening of the Eket City Hall, the allocation of ₦50 million in grants to 500 entrepreneurs through the Eket ARISE Empowerment Initiative 1.0, and the groundbreaking ceremony for the state-of-the-art Eket Legislative Complex.

Inspired by Warren Bennis’ words that leadership is the capacity to turn vision into reality, I have worked with my team to bring meaningful development to our people, guided by Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE AGENDA—which emphasizes agriculture, rural development, infrastructure, security, and education.

The new Eket City Hall, conceptualized by my predecessor Hon. Frank Archibong, is more than a structure—it’s a symbol of unity and progress, and will serve as a hub for events while boosting our local economy and creating jobs.

The Small Business Grant reflects our belief in the power of small businesses to reduce poverty and drive sustainable growth. By empowering our entrepreneurs, we are strengthening the backbone of our local economy and circulating wealth within our community.

The proposed legislative complex is another step forward in enhancing governance and service delivery in Eket. Alongside this, my administration has embarked on numerous other impactful projects in education, health, youth development, tourism, agriculture, and infrastructure.

None of this would have been possible without the support of Governor Umo Eno , the selfless efforts of our people, and the contributions of our partners and stakeholders. I am especially grateful to my predecessor Hon Frank Archibong , Member Representing Eket state constituency in House of Assembly Dr Nsidebe Akata , the Head of Service , our councilors , supervisors , Mr. Emmanuel Jacob who donated a trailer load of cement for this project , and all our technical partners .

God bless Eket, Akwa Ibom State, and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
