LETTER OF APPEAL FOR JUSTICE AND TRANSPARENCY IN THE AKWA IBOM STATE CIVIL SERVICE RECRUITMENT EXERCISE

To:

The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State,

His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno,

Government House, Uyo.

Through:

The Head of Civil Service,

Akwa Ibom State,

Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat, Uyo.

From: Concerned Candidates - Akwa Ibom State Civil Service CBT Examination (Scores 70% and Above)

Date: 2nd October, 2026

Subject: APPEAL FOR JUSTICE FOR OVER 1300 CANDIDATES WHO SCORED 70% AND ABOVE IN THE CIVIL SERVICE RECRUITMENT CBT EXAM

Your Excellency,

We, the undersigned candidates who participated in the Akwa Ibom State Civil Service Recruitment Computer-Based Test (CBT) Exercise, write with deep respect and utmost sense of responsibility to appeal for your urgent intervention and justice.

The Facts:

Sir, over 1,300 of us scored 70% and above in the CBT examination conducted by the Akwa Ibom State Government. We were duly shortlisted, verified, and we passed the examination on merit after months of preparation.

Our Grievance:

To our greatest dismay, since the conclusion of the CBT:

a. No official results have been published;

b. No merit list or employment letters have been issued to those who passed;

c. No official explanation has been given for the delay/abandonment.

This has left over 1300 qualified Akwa Ibom youths in anxiety, frustration and despair.

Our Prayer:

In line with your ARISE Agenda which stands for transparency, accountability and merit, we humbly appeal that you:

i. Direct the Ministry / Civil Service Commission to publish the full CBT results;

ii. Ensure that candidates who scored 70% and above are given employment based on merit and qualification;

iii. Set up an independent review committee to ensure fairness and to restore public confidence in the process.

Your Excellency, we believe in your administration as a listening and youth-friendly government. We scored high on merit and we only ask that merit should not be sacrificed for favoritism. 1300+ futures are at stake.

We have attached evidence of our CBT scores and participation for your perusal.

We trust in your fatherly intervention to deliver justice.

Yours faithfully,

For and on behalf of the 1300+ Affected Candidates,

CC:

The Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Labour and Manpower Planning

The Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Civil Service Commission

The Chairman, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Committee on Labour

The State Director, DSS
