Mr Umoh Joshua: John Obot

1. Do you know that John Obot had since smashed his 145 hour read aloud Guinness World Record's target and is now reading to add extra 8 hours?

2. Do you know that John personally chose to do the extra 8 hours so that the Guinness World Record's verification team would not short count on him, should there be a few stretches during his earlier reading breaks?

3. Do you know that the 8 hours addition means John will be reading till 10PM tonight, Monday, September 18, 2023?

4. Do you know that, in effect, that means John will be reading for a record time length of 153 hours?

5. Do you know that if you add the initial 53 hours which were cancelled due to transmission downtime occasioned by power/technical glitches, it will total 206 (TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY THREE) LONG HOURS?

6. Do you know that this proud son of Akwa Ibom will be the FIRST HUMAN BEING, DEAD OR ALIVE, TO HAVE READ THAT LONG SINCE THE START OF DOCUMENTED HUMAN HISTORY?

7. Do you know this Guinness World Record's history of the longest reading aloud session ever is made on SEPTEMBER 18, 2023?

8. And do you know MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 IS MY BIRTHDAY?

More from Mr Umoh Joshua

I spent some time today, Saturday, September 16, 2023 with the history maker, John Obot , his crew, fans and guests, in Uyo, the Akwa-Ibom State capital, Nigeria.

I was glad to watch him hit the 102nd hour chord.

Trust me, John Obot is a research phenomenon in audacious resilience. What an indomitable spirit!

Plenty thanks to AK Kingsley , Esther Gold Inwang , Ediongsenyene Ndunobong , et al.

God bless the progenitor of Uyo Book Club , Dr. Udeme Nnanna and our other leaders and members, for cheering up one of our own towards becoming a Guinness World Record Longest Read Aloud title holder. God bless Watbridge Hotel and Suites , its management and staff, led by Uyo Book Club's lead patron, Sen. Barr Ekong Sampson .

In years to come, it shall be said of a fact that there was a young Akwa Ibom folk whose name was John Obot who read books for about ten days, without stoppage. In deed, impossible is nothing!
